• Who is eligible? Children aged 0–17 who are eligible for Medicare and whose family receives eligible Australian Government payments, including Family Tax Benefit Part A, certain other Centrelink payments, and youth allowances
• How much? Up to $1,095.60 AUD in dental benefits over a consecutive 2-calendar-year period
• When does eligibility start? Children become eligible in January of the year the family qualifies
• Does it roll over? Unused benefits carry over within the 2-year benefit period, but they don't accumulate beyond that period

What does CDBS cover?

The CDBS covers a broad range of general dental services:

• Dental check-ups and examinations
• X-rays (including OPG panoramic X-rays)
• Scale and clean
• Fissure sealants (protective coatings applied to the biting surfaces of molars)
• Fluoride treatments
• White composite fillings
• Root canal treatment on baby teeth and permanent teeth
• Extractions, including simple tooth removals
• Partial dentures in applicable cases

What is NOT covered?

The CDBS doesn't cover orthodontic treatment (braces or Invisalign), cosmetic treatment, mouthguards, or procedures carried out in a hospital setting.
